Shoei Full Face Helmets

AERODYNAMICS • COMFORT • LUXURY • HIGH PERFORMANCE In the last 50 years, Shoei has combined helmet design and manufacturing experience, racer track testing, and advanced aerospace development methods to create the most technologically advanced helmets. With the newly redesigned X-TWELVE®, Shoei introduces an outstanding street helmet developed to withstand the most severe riding conditions while retaining optimal comfort. AERODYNAMICS An improved aerodynamic shape, achieved through extensive wind tunnel testing, has resulted in a revamped shell, featuring an enlarged Aero Edge Spoiler 2. The spoiler’s shape now covers both sides of the helmet, enabling more control over positioning of the head. VENTILATION Featuring five intake and ten exhaust vents, the X-TWELVE® is Shoei’s most aggressively ventilated helmet. Countless hours in Shoei’s in-house wind tunnels testing the X-TWELVE®’s shell, Aero Edge Spoiler 2 and vents, resulted in an incredibly sleek design that increases airflow while reducing noise by identifying the optimal locations and shapes of all vent parts. Side Extractor Vents developed by Shoei’s MotoGP racing service help clear warm, humid air from the racer’s face to increase comfort and reduce fogging. THE VISION Shoei’s new CW-1 face shield is both wider and taller than the CX-1V that it replaces. Shoei racer Ben Bostrom says about the eye port: “...In your peripheral, you don’t see anything above you... it’s just sky”. In addition to being both wider and taller, the new CW-1 is distortion-free due to its 3D injection-molding process. Different versions of the CW-1 shield are available to accommodate Pinlock® fog-free lenses. An optional, Pinlock®-ready CWF-1 model includes posts for tear-off sheets. Q.R.S.A. SYSTEM Shoei’s new CW-1 face shield utilizes Shoei’s Quick-Release Self-Adjusting base plate to allow for tool-less removal and installation. The base plate is spring-loaded and pulls the shield back onto the helmet, sealing it tightly against wind and rain. LIFE IN 3D Fitting is one of the most crucial factors of helmet design. Shoei has addressed this by developing interior fittings that are equally firm and comfortably soft, the goal being to maximize reduction of rider fatigue. The 3D center pad and cheek pads work together to completely wrap the head with a 3D Max-Dry interior system, proven to absorb and dissipate sweat two times faster than nylon interiors. EMERGENCY QUICK-RELEASE SYSTEM (E.Q.R.S.) To facilitate quick, easy helmet removal in the event of a crash or other accident, the X-Twelve features an Emergency Quick-Release System (E.Q.R.S.), consisting of a pull tab that tucks up inside the cheek pads until needed. The tab swings out by pulling, removing the attached cheek pad and allowing a rescue team member to remove the loosened helmet from an injured rider’s head, with minimal load placed on his or her neck.
